Love Boats Topple Ghosts, 9-4, as Hollamby Shines
|
Lake Minnetonka and Casper got after it at The Graveyard.
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats relied on the hitting of first baseman Carl Hollamby to stop the Casper Ghosts, 9-4. For the game, Hollamby went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Lake Minnetonka pitcher Scott Powell got the win, upping his record to 4-5. Vic Lee got the loss.
Lake Minnetonka used the bat of Chris Sanders to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Love Boats ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Hollamby. "Those qualities define our team."
Lake Minnetonka now has a record of 34-27 with the win.
