Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Fighting Imps
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps topped the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 4-1, in M3L Double A action at Heron Field. The standout performance belonged to Ithaca pitcher and Shanwei, China, native Mang Zhong. Ostoja Randjelovic snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He's now 2-1 on the season. Getting the save was Xin-fang Zha, his 17th.
Ithaca used a timely hit from Asvarya Konduru to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Konduru. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Fighting Imps lead the Menard's AA by 3 games.
