Highlanders Deal Thunder 2-0 Defeat
|
The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at Baby Thunder Dome, knocking off the St. Petersburg Thunder, 2-0. Starting pitcher Anthony Carney was a big reason why. The Highlanders now have a record of 18-40.
Jim Abare, the 26-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Abare contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Asheville up, 1-0.
Carney said his team "played with focus."
