Fighting Imps Nip Farmers, 4-3
|
The Lancaster Farmers got a sterling performance from pitcher Jeffrey Pope, but the Ithaca Fighting Imps still prevailed, 4-3. Pope threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Damarco Lyons came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. The Menard's AA-leading Fighting Imps are 36-21.
The Fighting Imps procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Vaclav Steur. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
In postgame comments, Steur said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
