Blimps Defeat Love Boats, 7-4

The Akron Blimps took Lake Minnetonka pitcher Dave Peters's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Heron Field. The final score had Akron getting past the Love Boats, 7-4. Peters went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 5. Akron reliever Ward Brooks got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Nathan Jordan was tagged with the loss. Bill Williams closed the game out for Akron, earning his 14th save.
Ole Geenen chipped in for Akron, stroking a crucial 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
In postgame remarks, Geenen said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
