Blimps Get One-Run Win at Yakima
|
Akron starter Miguel Morales pitched well against the Yakima Hops at Hops Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. In 7.1 innings, Morales surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 4 runs. The save went to Bill Williams, his 9th this season.
Akron used the clutch hitting of Jacob Gray to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blimps ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"I was a little disappointed," said Yakima manager Gerald Clark. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Hops, now 20-17, have lost 4 in a row.
