Ghosts Fall Short, 3-2, at Ottawa
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ottawa Nationals and Casper Ghosts.
The Ottawa Nationals got a strong performance from pitcher Raúl Martínez, who stymied the Casper offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Nationals Park. Martínez, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Gary Dillon picked up the save, his 12th.
The Nationals got a big boost from catcher Michael Taylor who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth inning off Ghosts hurler Rafael Márquez. It was his 12th walk of the season and put Ottawa on top, 3-2.
"Feels good to get the job done," Taylor said after the game.
At 17-19, the Nationals are currently 9th in the Menard's AA.
