Starting pitcher Fernando Ríos held up his part of the bargain, helping the Irving Blue Sox stymie the Lancaster Farmers, 2-1. Jude Twitchen earned save number 8 this season. The 5th-place Farmers have dropped 4 straight games.
Irving used the timely hitting of Remi Luttini to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Sox on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Ríos attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
