Blue Sox Earn 3-1 Road Win Over Asheville
|
Starting pitcher Edgardo López did his part in helping the Irving Blue Sox thwart the Asheville Highlanders, 3-1. In 6 innings, López surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 6. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Irving raised its record to 15-8.
The Blue Sox got an important contribution from shortstop He-ping Bu, who in the top of the fifth hit a fastball into right-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Blue Sox ahead, 2-1.
Bu told a Irving Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
