The Akron Blimps topped the Westwood Sixshooters, 4-3, in M3L Double A action at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The standout performance belonged to Akron pitcher and Selmer, Tennessee, native Rich Roberts. Roberts went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 5-0. The Sixshooters, now 6-14, continue their inauspicious start.
Christian Ford had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Akron. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Akron in front, 4-0.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Westwood manager Tony Hernández.
