Blue Sox Edge Past Nationals, 2-1

The Irving Blue Sox did just enough to sneak past the Ottawa Nationals, 2-1, at Blue Sox Ballpark. Irving pitcher Fernando Ríos, in particular, had a standout performance. Irving reliever Richard Marks picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jurgen Helmer suffered the loss. The Nationals fall to 8-11 and continue their lackluster start to the 2047 season.
José Castejón took Jurgen Helmer deep in the bottom of the eighth. His solo home run put the Blue Sox on top, 2-1. In all, Castejón had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
Castejón told a Irving Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
