Fighting Imps Earn 2-1 Win Against Sixshooters
|
There was never a dull moment in this extra-length game between the Ithaca Fighting Imps and the Westwood Sixshooters.
The Ithaca Fighting Imps did just enough to sneak past the Westwood Sixshooters, 2-1, at Sixshooters Stadium. Ithaca pitcher Tyler Budge, in particular, had a standout performance. Francisco Esposo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Harvey Caldwell was tagged with the loss.
Ithaca used a timely hit from José López to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Ithaca manager Gary Thomas.
Ithaca goes to 10-6.
