Bhagavan Antle pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Ft. Worth Cattlemen, despite Antle's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at The Cattle Pen. Josuke Okumura, the winner, goes to 3-5. He allowed 1 run on 1 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts over 5 innings. The Northern Lions BC now own a record of 44-49.
Thunder Bay took a 3-1 lead on Eric MacKichan's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which MacKichan hit in the top of the eighth, left Ft. Worth pitcher Woodward Haberdash shaking his head.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams.
