The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC did just enough to secure a victory over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 4-3, at The Cattle Pen. Nobody did more than pitcher Jorge Souza. Souza picked up the win for Thunder Bay, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 7-7. Thunder Bay has 3 straight wins, Ft. Worth 3 straight losses.
António Cruz, the 25-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cruz contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Thunder Bay up, 2-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Souza told the Thunder Bay Herald.
