Oaks Come Up Short at Panama City, 2-1
|
The Panama City Piranhas racked up a win at The Tank, bumping off the Oakland Oaks, 2-1. Sergio Tacuri, who started for Panama City, pitched effectively for his team. Tacuri picked up the win for Panama City, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 8-6. The save went to Jason Cannon, his 3rd this season.
The Piranhas got an important contribution from right fielder Amani Marwan, who in the bottom of the third hit a 0-1 fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Piranhas ahead, 2-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Tacuri said.
Panama City has now won 4 in a row.
