Great Effort by Leviathan RF Águila Not Enough in 10-6 Loss
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids weathered an outstanding game by Nova Scotia right fielder Ricardo Águila to topple the Leviathan, 10-6. Águila was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The first-place Rainbow Mermaids have a one-game lead in their division.

Northern Virginia used the timely hitting of Jaime Montés to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out aggressive," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister. "We came out swinging the bats."
