Román Mejía could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Las Vegas Flamingos lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the New Orleans Voodoo at The Voodoo Lounge. Ronnie Gómez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. The triumph puts New Orleans at 51-25 for the season.

New Orleans took a 2-0 lead on Leonard Tucker's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Las Vegas pitcher Román Mejía in the bottom of the seventh.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Tucker told the New Orleans Chronicle.
