|
The Oakland Oaks got a strong performance from pitcher Stewart Telfer, who stymied the Thunder Bay offense en route to a win, 4-2, at The Oak Grove. The winning pitcher was Telfer, now 4-0. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Juan Luis Matos closed it out for his 16th save.
Desi Liñares tagged a home run off Jorge Souza in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Oaks on top, 3-1. In all, Liñares had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 2.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
The Oaks have an impressive 35-19 record.
