Knights Get One-Run Win at Charleston
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Kingston Township Knights eventually prevailed.
The Kingston Township Knights turned back the Charleston Battery, 4-3, at Charleston Armory. Tom Rowland, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. Picking up the save was Pei Fa, his 4th.
Kingston Township relied on the hitting of Greg Rogers to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Knights on top, 4-0. For the game, Rogers had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt.
After today's action, Kingston Township sits at 24-30; Charleston slips to 15-39.
