Northern Lions BC Lose to Piranhas, 3-1
|
Vicente Molina was locked and loaded, helping the Panama City Piranhas beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-1. Molina went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-5. Gunner Cross was credited with the save for Panama City, his 8th of the season.
Panama City first baseman Koryusai Maejima contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Piranhas ahead, 2-1.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Molina told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
The Piranhas sport a record of 15-25.
