Casper starter Elias Visscher put a stranglehold on the Asheville offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Ghosts to a 2-1 win. Visscher went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Hirokazu Morita collected save number 1.

The Highlanders had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Ghosts going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old first baseman Phil Berry came to the plate. Berry hit a solo home run on a 2-1 fastball from Asheville hurler Jesús Gordini. It was Berry's 1st home run of the year.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Asheville manager Jonah Moody. "Obviously."

Asheville is 1-3 after the loss.
