Blimps Come Up Short at Ottawa, 6-5
|
The Ottawa Nationals dealt the Akron Blimps a 6-5 loss at Nationals Park. Artie Smith was the star on offense. He went 1-2 with 3 walks. Gary Dillon got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The win gives Ottawa a record of 3-1.
John Putman broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Nationals in front, 2-1. For the game, Putman was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Putman said.
