Norfolk and Kansas got after it at Wichita Field.
The Norfolk Pajaritos took Kansas pitcher Jason Lawrence's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Wichita Field. The final score had Norfolk getting past the Rainbeaus, 6-1. Lawrence went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Vicente Medina, the winning pitcher, is now 9-5. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 9 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1.
Norfolk used a clutch hit from Ken Jackson to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pajaritos ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
Jackson called the win "a collective effort."
The loss makes Kansas 45-42.
