Squirrel Monkeys Snag 7-5 Win
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys knocked off the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 7-5, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Tomás Sánchez was a big reason Syracuse won. The designated hitter went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The third-place Squirrel Monkeys are now 50-35, the Fighting Dachsunds 44-41.
Sánchez had a timely hit for Syracuse in the top of the eighth. With Ellenburg trailing 5-4, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season, making it 6-5, Syracuse.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Syracuse manager Stu Henderson.
