Black Mambas Come Back Late to Top Dodos, 6-3
|
The performance of Donnie Haggard proved critical in helping Austin beat Hialeah, 6-3. The Black Mambas second baseman went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Patrick Ibáñez, now 4-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. The Black Mambas' win now puts them at 34-36.
Haggard had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 cutter from Mark Taylor, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Black Mambas a 6-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Haggard.
Haggard told a Austin Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
