Kansas Dismisses Norfolk, 4-1
|
Kansas and Norfolk duked it out and the Rainbeaus came out victorious.
The Kansas Rainbeaus topped the Norfolk Pajaritos, 4-1, in USSL Triple A action at Norfolk Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kansas pitcher Félix Torres. The winning pitcher was Torres, now 10-3. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Luis Valdés notched his 9th save in 10 chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Shun Fukui? The Kansas first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rainbeaus on top, 3-1. For the game, Fukui had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Torres said after the game.
The win puts Kansas at 34-32 this season.
