Blatchford Leads Squirrel Monkeys to Win
With shortstop Cory Blatchford leading the charge, the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys defeated the Kansas Rainbeaus, 7-3, at Wichita Field. Blatchford went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Syracuse pitcher Stuart Chase got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Félix Torres got the loss. Syracuse raised its record to 29-24 with the win.

Syracuse relied on the bat of Tomás Sánchez to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 2-0. For the game, Sánchez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
