Late Magic Gets Austin 3-1 Win
|
The Austin Black Mambas topped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 3-1, in USSL Triple A action at The Bamboo Forest. The standout performance belonged to Austin pitcher and Phoenix, Arizona, native Kyle Horton. Horton picked up the win for Austin, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Duane Coleman nailed down his 3rd save.
Austin used the timely hitting of Alfonso Ramos to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Mambas on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Enjoyed this one," Horton told the Austin Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
With the victory, the Black Mambas upped their record to 28-23.
