Monsters Shut Out Red Pandas, 6-0
|
With first baseman Martín Flores leading the charge, the Monongahela Monsters defeated the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 6-0, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Flores, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA in extra base hits with 24, was 1-3 with 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The winner in relief was Bob Christison. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4.2 innings. The Monsters now have a record of 22-26 with the win over Sioux Falls.
With Monongahela leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Colt Allen hit a 2-run single off Sioux Falls pitcher Luis Bongers. It put the Monsters ahead 3-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Allen.
