Monsters Shut Out Red Pandas, 9-0
|
The Monongahela Monsters got a stellar effort from pitcher Ángel Santingo, helping Monongahela score a win over the visiting Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 9-0. Santingo, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The 7th-place Monsters now have a win-loss record of 21-25.
The tension was thick in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and Sioux Falls trailing 8-0, Ángel Santingo had to get a big out. On a 2-2 fastball, he retired Louwe Heesemans, who struck out.
