Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Kansas Rainbeaus and the Norfolk Pajaritos. Kansas won it, 1-0. Kansas starter Chao Khu was in command. Khu, now 1-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Luis Valdés earned the save, his 2nd, for the Rainbeaus.

The Pajaritos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rainbeaus going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder Darrell MacGregor came to the plate. MacGregor hit a solo home run on a 3-0 fastball from Norfolk hurler Gabriel García. It was MacGregor's 4th home run of the year.

MacGregor told a Kansas Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

Kansas is now 20-21.
