Despite a great performance by Sioux Falls first baseman Andrew Gray, the Port Huron Blitzkrieg defeated the Red Pandas by the score of 5-4 at Port Huron Park. Gray was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Blitzkrieg have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 18 games.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 4-4, left fielder António Méndez won it for Port Huron. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Méndez hit a 1-1 fastball from Mariano Bueno for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Méndez. "It was a great win."
