Syracuse pinch hitter Keith Nash had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Austin Black Mambas, 8-4. Paul Vereen notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. The win gives the Squirrel Monkeys a record of 10-7.

Nash came through with some timely hitting for Syracuse. With Austin trailing 4-3 in the top of the eighth, Nash hit a 2-0 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 3rd home run of the season made it 7-4, Syracuse.

"I believe in our guys," said Syracuse skipper Stu Henderson. "I like the energy they're playing with."
