Rainbeaus Beat Monsters, 7-4
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus grabbed a win, 7-4, over the Monongahela Monsters at Wichita Field. Kansas third baseman Guan-xiu Long went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ben Hankins picked up the save, his 5th. The Monsters fall to 5-10 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2047 season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kansas designated hitter Fraser Childs put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 4th home run of the year. Monongahela pitcher Eugene Kelly served it up. Just like that, the Rainbeaus were ahead, 6-4.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Childs.
