The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Norfolk Pajaritos, 10-5, at The Zoo in Syracuse. Syracuse right fielder Nathan Shallcross had an outstanding performance. He was 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 4 times. José Guerrero, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4. Harold Hunter closed it out for his 1st save.

Early in the game, third baseman Justin Schock had a 2-run double for Syracuse. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 2-0.
