Knights Trip Warriors, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Nolensville Knights got a strong performance from pitcher Jake Owens, who stymied the Forest City offense en route to a win, 3-2, at League Park. Nolensville reliever Bill Glenn was the winner. His record is now 2-3. Michael Ramsey took the loss. At 40-48, the Knights are currently 10th in the Menard's AAA.
Nolensville used the timely hitting of Fred Wells to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Knights on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Wells told the Nolensville Times. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
