The Saboteurs grabbed a win, 3-2, at Virginia Beach Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Virginia Beach pitcher George Butler. Butler went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. After losing, Virginia Beach is 2-2.

Toledo used the timely hitting of Ron Buchanan to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Saboteurs on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Buchanan called the triumph "a good team win."
