Big Day for Kelley as Flyers Down Buzz, 5-2
|
The Pennsauken Flyers trumped the Salt Lake City Buzz, 5-2, at Spirits Stadium. Pennsauken first baseman Shawn Kelley was terrific. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Stephen Reed got the win, improving to 3-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Joe Boyle.
With Pennsauken leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Kelley hit a curveball from Alfredo Molina for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 3-0.
"I felt good up there," said Kelley. "I saw the ball well."
Pennsauken, with the win, is 18-50.
