Syracuse and Sunset District duked it out and the Starks came out victorious.

Sunset District second baseman Millard Morris had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-4, to Syracuse at Fog Park. Morris slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Zuo-lin Liang got the win, improving to 2-3. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Jorge Torres locked down his 8th save.

Syracuse used the bat of Byron Ballard to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Starks ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Ballard told the Syracuse Herald. "It's as simple as that."

After today's action, Syracuse sits at 21-27; Sunset District slips to 22-26.
