Extra-Inning Win by Golden Cranes Over Men
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Psychos Ballpark.
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Florida Men, 10-7, at Psychos Ballpark. Santa Barbara second baseman Zed Umlaut had an outstanding performance. He went 4-7 with a triple, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The third-place Golden Cranes sport a record of 27-18.
Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of Al Custello to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 16th inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Umlaut.
