Redlegs Top Flyers, 5-4
|
Sacramento Redlegs starter John Tripcony pitched a strong game against the Pennsauken Flyers at Sacramento Sanitation Station, leading the Redlegs to victory, 5-4. Tripcony, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 5 walks. Eugenio Piñeiro, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Albert Hanson dealt the Flyers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Sacramento leading 3-0, Hanson hit a 1-0 cutter for a 2-run single.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Tripcony.
The 9th-place Redlegs sport a record of 9-14.
