The Port Royal Disaster got a sterling performance from pitcher Tynan Brown, but the Syracuse Starks still prevailed, 3-2. Brown threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Jorge Torres collected his 1st save. Syracuse occupies 7th place in the Menard's AAA at 10-13.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Chiel Vreke to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Starks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Tough loss," said Port Royal manager Clint Davis. "But we'll learn from it."
