Knights Walk It Off for 13th Win of Season
|
The Charleston Battery got a superb performance from pitcher Everett Pratt. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kingston Township. The Knights won the game, 6-5. Pratt threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Mark Wells, now 1-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The Battery, now 8-23, have lost 4 straight.
The Knights relied on first baseman Vinnie Nuyten for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
In postgame comments, Nuyten said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
