Piranhas Top Voodoo, 7-5
|
A 3-RBI performance from Anthony Hollis, who is tied for 4th in the 3L in RBI with 17, helped the Panama City Piranhas beat the New Orleans Voodoo, 7-5. Picking up the win was Sergio Tacuri. He went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. The loss drops New Orleans to 13-6.
There was more than one reason the Piranhas beat the Voodoo, but Hollis's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 6-4 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
In postgame comments to the Panama City Daily News, Hollis said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
