Battery Hang 5-3 Loss on Oaks

The Charleston Battery started the 2047 season win an impressive 5-3 win against the Oakland Oaks at Charleston Armory. Sang-hwa Kim led the way for Charleston. Kim went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. James Tucker was credited with the save for Charleston, his 1st of the season.
The Battery got a big at-bat from shortstop Nando van der Goor. For the game, van der Goor went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Charleston a 4-3 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said van der Goor.
