Kingfishers Beat Toledo, 3-2
|
The Toledo Stingers got a sterling performance from pitcher Craig Fitzgerald, but the Pittsburgh Kingfishers still prevailed, 3-2. Fitzgerald threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Elton Ray picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-7. Adam Durango was tagged with the loss. The Kingfishers sport a record of 34-66.
Pittsburgh needed the clutch hitting of Sébastien Guillaume to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 3-2. For the game, Guillaume had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson.
