#1 Player Named by USSL Rookie
Wednesday, September 26th , 2046
At the age of 21, Matt Greene of the Beaumont Crossbeaus could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2046 was good enough to win the first baseman the USSL Rookie Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .269 batting average this year, as well as a .388 on-base percentage. He played 95 games and racked up 91 hits, 18 doubles, no triples, 19 home runs, 65 RBIs and 51 runs scored.
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Thatcher Lambert of the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Arnie Dunn of the Northwest Territory Beavers finished third with 3 first place votes.
