Sweet Sweep for Mercer Island Monday, September 24th , 2046 The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles made quick work of the Virginia Beach Whales in the PL AA Championship, sweeping them aside to clinch the 14th USPL Double A crown in Screaming Eagles history. Mercer Island sealed the series today at Virginia Beach Grounds with a 10-3 victory. During the regular season play, the Screaming Eagles notched a 68-34 record and wound up in first place in the Premier AA race. "I won't say it was easy, because baseball games are rarely easy," said Mercer Island manager Vincent Parker. "But I did expect we would have to play a much longer series."
