Opio's Strong Week Earns PAA Trophy Monday, September 17th , 2046 23-year-old Manny Opio made a few Mercer Island headlines during this past week as the rookie second baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Double A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 7 hits in 14 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Opio collected 1 home run, 5 RBIs and scored 6 runs. Hitting .306 to date, Opio has 15 home runs and 63 RBIs. He has played in 100 games. |
