Mendoza Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Pierogis Sunday, June 17th , 2046 Tony Mendoza was in home run mode in the 10-8 Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks win over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis today. Mendoza tortured the Pierogis, cracking out three home runs and going 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. "When you're hot, you're hot," said a grinning Mendoza in the postgame press conference. "I got some good pitches to hit and got a good swing going today. I cannot believe it happened. I was like, 'I don't know what I'm doing.'" Tony Mendoza hit a two-run home run off In-chor Im in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off In-chor Im in the 7th, walked in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit a two-run home run off Chris McGee in the 12th. So far this year Mendoza has hit .333 with 9 home runs, 22 RBIs and 26 runs scored. |
